The 10-Minute Lunchbox: A School Lunch System That Works
Lunchboxes are a daily creative writing exercise nobody signed up for. I tried 25-minute morning panics. Zero stars. So I did what I'd do at work: built a system. Here it is, lessons learned and all.

The formula
Every box gets the same five slots: something filling, a protein, a fruit or veg, something crunchy, and one small treat. When the slots are fixed, the morning is just filling them. It's a paint-by-numbers picture: the outline is done, you just color in.
1. Start with the right box
Compartments do the portioning for you. A leakproof box means wet and dry food can sit side by side.
Bentgo Kids Bento Box (5-compartment)
A leakproof 5-compartment bento box sized for kids. Easy for small hands to open.
OmieBox Thermal Bento Box V2
A bento box with an insulated food jar, so one lunch can be half hot and half cold.
2. Two tools that get food eaten
Shapes and picks make the same food feel new. That's often the difference between eaten and returned.
Lunch Punch Sandwich Cutters Set
Cutters that turn a plain sandwich into shapes. The trick that gets the crusts eaten.
Bento Animal Picks Set
Little food picks that make fruit and cheese look like a treat.
3. Keep the snack slot stocked
Buy the crunchy and fruit slots in bulk, so they are never the thing you're out of.
MadeGood Granola Bars (nut-free, school-safe)
Nut-free granola bars made in a dedicated allergen-free facility. Fine for nut-free schools.
Annie's Cheddar Bunnies
Baked cheddar crackers shaped like bunnies. A lunchbox regular.
4. The sad-lunch saviors
For the morning the fridge is bare. One reliable thing goes a long way.
Babybel Original Cheese Snack
Wax-wrapped mini cheeses that hold up in a lunchbox until midday.
5. Keep it cold
PackIt Freezable Lunch Bag
A lunch bag with freezable gel built into the walls. No separate ice pack to forget.
