A note

You Don't Have to Do It All to Be Doing Enough

A short note for the mom who keeps score against herself.

Hey you, the one keeping score.

Not a real scorecard. The one in your head.

Packed a lunch from scratch? Point. Store-bought cookies for the class party? Minus one. Screen time so you could take a call? Minus two, and a little lecture on the way to the laptop.

Nobody asked you to keep score. Nobody is checking.

Kids don't remember who baked the cookies. They remember who showed up, a little late, still holding a phone. That counts.

So treat it like any other project with too many deliverables. What actually moves the needle? What's just noise that makes you feel busy?

The quiet list

  • Store-bought is fine. Really.
  • Screen time so you can work is a trade-off, not a failure.
  • Help in the kitchen, help with the laundry, help of any kind, is a resource. Use it.
  • Saying no to the fifth thing this week is a decision, not a weakness.

Drop one thing today. Just one.

Watch the world not end. Trust me, I checked. Twice.
